I’m looking for new friends who love mechanics and green technologies. Together we can make many natural fuel engines with continuously increasing efficiency. I will tell you all details but not in one day.
Introduction
Many talk about abandoning oil, gas, and coal. But how can we do this without losing the benefits of cheap energy sources for each of us? Brayton Power community offers its original answer. My name is Ivan Pushechnikov, and I am an expert in IT, electronics, acoustics, and mechanics, as well as the founder of the Brayton Power community. I want to start my story with the reasons that led humanity to use fossil energy sources.
For millions of years, our planet has been in balance. All animals, and later humans, used organic carbon-based substances for life, releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, while plants converted carbon dioxide back into organic substances. The main cause of the balance disruption was the creation of internal combustion engines and other engines using liquid and gaseous fuels. These engines are much more efficient than the previously widespread steam engine but cannot use solid fuel.
Unfortunately, natural plant fuel is usually solid. Therefore, humanity had to increase the extraction of oil and gas. This led to a significant additional amount of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere. However, the existing chains of energy and organic substance transmission remained unchanged, so the excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is not compensated in any way.
Humanity has already realized that losing balance can lead to catastrophic global climate changes. However, in addressing this problem, humanity is going the wrong way. The development and implementation of new technologies require more and more resources, further impacting nature. For example, the increased production of lithium batteries has caused significant harm to nature in mining areas. And the transition to hydrogen engines leads to the emergence of a new industry for hydrogen production and transportation, which also requires a lot of resources.
The Brayton Power community proposes three things for humanity to do:
Restore technologies from past centuries that had minimal impact on the environment. We want to revive and improve the Brayton engine, which was prevalent in the 19th century before the internal combustion engine became more popular.
Decentralization. Humanity has already reaped all possible benefits from mass production. Now it’s necessary to strike a balance between cheap mass-produced products and individually crafted products tailored to specific locations on Earth, using the resources available in those locations.
“Green” second life for unnecessary non-ecological engines. The Brayton Power community has a powerful idea that allows for the recycling of existing automotive components into the Brayton engines we need, running on solid biofuel.
It is impossible to simultaneously implement our revolutionary solution in all areas of technology. Therefore, we are moving step by step, from simple to complex. The most challenging task is to create lightweight engines with high efficiency that can be used in aircraft. We are postponing this goal until the end of our marathon. We start with the cheapest small engines, composed of used parts from today’s engines, which are heavy and have low efficiency. Such engines have a very limited scope of application - they are only suitable for small house heating systems. The advantage of the Brayton Power system will be electricity generation, which users will receive as an addition to winter heating.
Our first product is a mini-CHP for greenhouse farms.
I was born and lived in Ukraine. The Brayton Power community also existed in Ukraine. We conducted our research in Kyiv at the “Hacklab” hackerspace. But after the unexpected military aggression by russia, I had to leave Ukraine with my wife and three children. We traveled extensively through various European countries until we realized that Gdynia is the best place for my family to live, and Gdansk is the best place to implement Brayton Power’s ideas.
Polish farmers say that goods harmful to Polish farming are coming from Ukraine. I am very sorry that these economic disputes harm the unity of Poland and Ukraine in times of a common great threat. I want the salvation for Polish farming to also come from Ukraine. Brayton Power will do several important things for this:
Natural gas prices are rising. Brayton Power will help transition to other fuel types for winter heating.
Electricity prices are also rising. Brayton Power’s heating system will generate not only heat but also electricity.
Polish farms mostly have an area of less than 10 hectares, making growing cereal crops unprofitable. Transitioning to vegetable cultivation in greenhouses equipped with the Brayton Power system will be a profitable solution.
I ask you! Let’s not quarrel, not blame each other, but together seek new successful solutions to all our problems and implement them. Together to ecological victory!
Thanks for that great attitude. I’m going to register an account in By_me_a_coffee. That would be pleasure to have at least a cup of coffee and a croissant each time I visit to the hackerspace.
Hello friends!
I need your help with searching heavy metal
That’s not a joke. I’m looking for any metal part like a wheel with about 30 cm diameter and 3-5 kg weight. Old 2nd use parts are preferred.
It was easy to solve similar tasks in Ukraine. But I have no idea where to find a piece of heavy metal in Gdansk.
I think I can help. I was returning the car to my local mechanic yesterday. He has some scrap metal waiting to be hauled away. But these are used, car parts such as discs, some gears and other parts. I think if I talk to him, you can just come and pick out what you want. These are not new parts, these are not good parts this is scrap. Let me know if you are interested.
Tomorrow if I have time I will take a picture of it. Only I live 35 km from Gdynia :), but there is a new road and you will get there in 30-40 minutes counting from Hackerspace. It is also worth waiting for answer from @KK and @yazjack, they will probably point out where you can get such a thing closer to tricity. if you are looking for new materials of good quality then I recommend Metalzbyt https://metalzbyt.com/
Thank you very much. I can easy walk from my home to the nearest store of this net! Moreover, they work till 19:00 and on Saturdays. But anyway 2nd use parts are the first priority and new parts are the 2dn priority. Quality level is under control and is made by testing and calculations.
