We have a new hackerspace in Kyiv, or at least that鈥檚 how the person who rented the place considers it 
It鈥檚 quite large, about 270 square meters, with 4-5 m high ceilings and a backyard terrace. The space was rented recently, just about 1.5 year ago. And it has A LOT of infrastructure problems. There is also another major problem - a lack of brains, hands, and the people who are generally interested in hackerspaces.
When we talk about a hackerspace, we usually put the community first. Well, at least I do. And as far as we consider ourselves a hackerspace community, I wonder whether we could do something together despite the distances.
One of the major infrastructure problems in our new hackerspace is heating. The space is divided into several rooms, and one of them is around 100 square meters. This is the main room where most activities take place. There is a wood-burning stove in that room which provides some heat, but it鈥檚 obviously not enough to ensure comfortable conditions inside, especially during winter season, when the temperature drops below zero. I addition, the heat does not spread evenly.
So we have to solve this problem somehow, because it鈥檚 unbearable to stay indoors when it鈥檚 5 degrees inside. The future existence of this place as a hackespace really depends on this factor.
